On our way to Costa Rica

We have just checked out of Suenos del Mar (although Ashley is cooking breakfast now, and we haven't left yet).  It has been a nice play to stay, the people here are really friendly, and the layout of the place makes it really easy to interact with the other travelers.  However, San Juan del Sur is kind of a crap hole.  I didn't particularly care for it the moment we arrived, and I really tried to give it a chance, but it's just filled with tourists, and a lot of them not too friendly.  Also due to the increased tourism the prices are higher here than anywhere else we've visited in Nicaragua.

The bus to Rivas leaves in about 30 minutes, and from there we will catch another bus to Penas Blanca which is just a little town existing only because of the border to Costa Rica.  This will be the first land border crossing Ashley and I have ever done, except Canada which in our opinion doesn't exactly count.

It has been two weeks since we arrived in Nicaragua, and what an amazing time it has been.  The expectations were set pretty low, so I think that helped quite a bit, but honestly I really do like it here.  It seems like such a bargain of a place.  But now we will continue south to Costa Rica, and we are both very excited.  What new adventures will await for us in this new country, only time shall tell.  Our first stop is Liberia.
